The Teddy Tour
For "beary" special children who need surgery

Going to a hospital for any reason can be scary, no matter what your age. It can be doubly worrisome for a child. That's why we've designed the Teddy Tour for children who are scheduled for surgery at Potomac Hospital.

Our free Teddy Tours offer reassurance to children and their parents. Going on a tour will help you and your child know what to expect on the day of surgery, so you will all feel less anxious. This will help the whole experience go more smoothly.

On the Teddy Tour, children will talk with a nurse about what happens during surgery, visit the recovery room, and look at blood pressure cuffs, stethoscopes, surgical gowns, masks and other essentials. The tour lasts about 30 minutes, and children leave with a bag of goodies and an added measure of courage to face the big day.

The Teddy Tours take place at Potomac Hospital's Century Surgical Services, 2280 Opitz Boulevard, Suite 100, Woodbridge, in the Century Medical Building on the campus of Potomac Hospital.

For more information about the free Teddy Tour or to arrange a tour for a child who is scheduled to have surgery at Potomac Hospital, please call (703) 730-4605 or (703) 730-4620 from 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. or complete the online Teddy Tour Information Form.
