Potomac Hospital, like most area hospitals, is not a licensed blood donation center. Therefore the hospital cannot accommodate walk-in donors responding to an immediate crisis. Inova Blood Donor Services, which supplies more than 90 percent of the blood used at Potomac, holds several blood drives each year at Potomac Hospital.
Inova Blood Donor Services Blood Drives
Blood drives are usually held on the third Tuesday of the month at Potomac Hospital.
Appointments are recommended and are available every 15 minutes. For information and to make appointments, call Inova Blood Donor Services at 1-866-BLOODSAVES (1-866-256-6372) or specify a desired appointment time online at inova.org/donateblood.
