Q.
At what age did you decide to pursue a medical career and why?
A.
I always had an interest in medicine because my mom was a nurse and in high school I volunteered as a nurse’s aide. Someone suggested medical school because I got excellent grades and it was then that I decided I wanted pursue medical school.
Q.
What are your particular interests within your specialty?
A.
I have been working in interventional radiology since the beginning. I enjoy working with and have interest in women who need treatment for uterine fibroids. I am also interested in oncology problems that require interventional radiology.

What are your interests outside of work?
A.
History -- at age 45 I completed my master’s degree in medieval history. I also like to travel and music.

What’s the best part about being a physician?
A.
Taking care of patients and working with the staff.
