Q.
At what age did you decide to pursue a medical career and why?
A.
After graduating from college with a degree in biology, I attended medical technology school where I became fascinated with medical science. After a brief career as a forensic serologist, I decided to attend medical school.
Q.
What are your particular interests within your specialty?
A.
The best thing about the practice of pathology is that you see specimens from all parts of the body and from all groups. I am particularly interested in performance and interpretation of fine needle aspiration biopsies of palpable masses.
Q.
What are your interests outside of work?
A.
I love to read, play bridge and enjoy taking classes in arts and crafts. Although grown, my four children also keep me busy.
Q.
What’s the best part about being a physician?
A.
I enjoy being part of the healthcare team -- helping clinicians find answers for their patients.
