Patient Relations

(703) 670-1575 or (540) 659-1800, Ext. 1575

The Patient Relations Department is here to help answer your questions and find possible solutions to any request or problems that cannot be resolved to your satisfaction. The staff help to ensure that your hospital experience meets your individual needs and expectations. We welcome your opinions concerning the services provided.

For your convenience, the director of Patient Relations can usually be reached at (703) 670-1575 or (540) 659-1800, Ext. 1575, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. When he is not in the office, a message may be left on the answering machine, or you may call the hospital switchboard at (703) 670-1313 or (540) 659-1800 and ask the operator to page him (or the administrative nursing coordinator during evenings, nights, weekends or when the patient representative is not in the hospital).

The public may contact The Joint Commission's Office of Quality Monitoring to report any concerns or register complaints. The office can be reached online via email at complaint@jointcommission.org or at 1-800-994-6610.

Patients also have the right to report concerns directly to: Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Health’s Center for Quality Health Care Services and Consumer Protection, Suite 216, 3600 Broad Street, Richmond, Virginia 23240-4920; Telephone: 800-955-1819. Fax: 804-367-2149.

Meet Potomac's Director of Patient Relations

Welcome! Brian Bourne, Potomac’s new Director of Patient Relations, continues the work of his predecessor, Laura McHenry. McHenry,
who retired in July, helped define the role of patient relations at Potomac
and nationally. Under her direction, the program grew from hospitality
to patient advocacy.
