Potomac Hospital Foundation Names
2009 Endowment Fund Scholarship Recipients

For the 19th consecutive year, Potomac Hospital Foundation has awarded educational scholarships of up to $4,000 each to deserving area high school students who wish to pursue a career in healthcare.

Students are selected based on academic record, personal characteristics, extra-curricular activities and citizenship and community interest. The Potomac Hospital Foundation Endowment Fund Scholarships provide financial support to exceptional Prince William County high school seniors who will study pre-medicine, nursing or a health-related subject in college.

The following students have been awarded Potomac Hospital Foundation’s 2009 Endowment Fund Scholarships:   

Belinda Asante-Mensah, Potomac Senior High School, received the Endowment Fund Scholarship for children of employees of Potomac Hospital. Belinda will pursue her degree in nursing at Old Dominion University this fall. She will receive $1,000 for her first year of enrollment and $500 per year for the next three years of enrollment.

Brittany Vernon, Forest Park High School, was awarded the Endowment Fund Scholarship for nursing. In the fall she will begin her college career at Radford University and will receive $1,000 per year for up to four years of enrollment.

Emily Bohnsack, Woodbridge Senior High School, was awarded the Endowment Fund Scholarship for those pursuing a degree in healthcare. Emily will study chemistry/pre-medicine at the University of Virginia in the fall. She will receive $1,000 per year for up to four years of enrollment.
