Potomac Hospital’s Megan Clay Receives Award

Megan Clay, R.N., a registered nurse at Potomac Hospital, received the 2009 Labor of Love Award from the Coalition for Human Services for outstanding support and care of uninsured pregnant women in our community. Clay is the clinical coordinator for the Potomac OB Clinic at Potomac Hospital.

Potomac Hospital's OB Clinic offers comprehensive prenatal, delivery and post partum services to expectant mothers who may not be able to afford such care, are not eligible for Medicaid, and do not have health insurance with maternity benefits. The patient's income is evaluated and a flexible payment schedule is developed that offers discounted fees for all prenatal, delivery and post partum care. Comprehensive care includes education about pregnancy, nutrition, childbirth, contraception and family planning.  The Potomac OB Clinic delivered 417 patients in 2008.
