The Virginia Society for Health-System Pharmacists named Potomac Hospital’s director of Pharmacy, Arash Dabestani, as its 2007 Pharmacist of the Year.
Dabestani was one of the first pharmacy directors in Virginia to address the need for increased pharmacy presence in the Emergency Department. He also established and is the managing editor for Pharmacydirectors.com, the first web-based comprehensive resource for directors of pharmacy worldwide.
He has made community presentations on topics such as geriatrics and polypharmacy, and he has been an instrumental resource in establishing Nova Scripts Central, which will address the prescription needs for the county’s indigent population.
