Potomac Physician Accepted to Prestigious Leadership Institution

Alan H. Wynn, M.D., FACP, an internist on Potomac Hospital’s medical staff, has been accepted into the Medical Society of Virginia Foundation’s Claude Moore Physician Institute Leadership Training in Executive Management.

Wynn is a past president of the medical staff and is currently the physician advisor to the Care Coordination Department. He also serves on a number of committees for Potomac Hospital including Performance Evaluation, Total Quality Management (TQM), and the Electronic Medical Records Task Force.

Wynn received his medical degree from Weill Medical College of Cornell University; was recipient of the Regents Scholarship (one of fifty statewide); and conducted medical research in Brazil. He also supervised and trained Cambodian refugees to serve as physician assistants in a Cambodian refugee camp in Thailand.

William Reha, M.D., MBA, a urologist on Potomac’s medical staff, was one of the first graduates of this prestigious physician leadership program.

About the Claude Moore Physician Leadership Institute of the Medical Society of Virginia Foundation: The Medical Society of Virginia Foundation, through a five-year grant from the Claude Moore Charitable Foundation and with support from HCA Virginia, established the Claude Moore Physician Leadership Institute in 2006.

This program is one of only a handful in the nation that is devoted to providing physicians with formal, ongoing leadership training. The goal of the Institute is to produce a network of physician leaders who work individually and together to effectively advance health and healthcare in Virginia.
