The dedication ceremony for Potomac Hospital’s new Worship Room, held on April 3, was attended by more than 50 people and speakers included (from left to right): William Moss, Potomac Hospital president; Soloist Maureen Deutermann, director of Community Education; Rev. Dr. A.J. Edwin Clever of Prince of Peace Methodist Church; Carol Wille, hospital chaplain; Rabbi Jennifer Weiner of Congregation Ner Shalom; Mr. Mohammad Mehboob of the Muslim Association of Virginia; and Rev. Charles C. Smith of Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church.
On Thursday, April 3, several leaders from community faith organizations joined together to dedicate Potomac Hospital’s new Worship Room, which is located on Potomac Boulevard inside Potomac Hospital.
“The new Worship Room is non-denominational and provides a quiet, private place for reflection, prayer or meditation,” says Carol Wille, hospital chaplain. “We look forward to using the room for various religious services and quiet consultation and we’re very pleased with the central and convenient location on the Boulevard.”
The Worship Room features various resources such as Bibles, Qurans, and nondenominational reading materials, as well as soft lighting, a soothing ceiling-to-floor stone waterfall and an altar. It’s open to patients, visitors, staff and volunteers 24-hours, seven days a week.
