New Team Member Welcome Session

Congratulations and welcome to the Potomac Hospital team!

After joining the team and accepting your offer from your department director, please register for one of our New Team Member Welcome Sessions.

These sessions are held each Tuesday at Potomac Hospital in Conference Rooms 2 and 3, beginning promptly at 8:15 a.m. and lasting for about two hours. Click here for Hospital Map/Conference Room location.

To register for a session, please give us (1) your name, (2) your department and (3) the date you will be attending – by leaving a phone message at (703) 583-7355.

Your phone message registers you for a Welcome Session. Please note that you will not receive a confirmation call back from the message line.

On the day of your Welcome Session, please arrive by 8:00 a.m. so we can begin on time. Late arrivals must reschedule through the Human Resources Department. Children are not allowed in the session under any circumstances.

During the New Member Welcome Session, you will

  • Receive a copy of your employment offer letter from Potomac Hospital. This letter will contain basic information on your compensation and employment status (for example part-time, full-time, or hourly). Specific questions regarding compensation and schedules should be directed to your Department Director.
  • Receive the Employee Handbook.
  • Provide documentation of your identification and the ability to work legally in the United States (see Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification). Be sure to bring these documents with you to the Welcome Session.
  • Provide documentation of any license or education as required in your job description.
  • Complete your paperwork under the guidance of the Employment Coordinator. You may want to discuss these with your family beforehand. To review, click on these samples: (Note: these are sample forms only; you will be required to fill out original documents during the session)

Criminal Background Check

After we have received confirmation of all your clearances, your Department Director will contact you with specific instructions on beginning work.

*Please note that team members employed in PRN status positions or the Premium Wage in Lieu of Benefits Program will not be eligible to receive many of these benefits.
